I don't recall the name, but since you are doing the obits, allow me to add the passing of graduate of the college, Art Montaigne. he graduated from Mackenzie, but I didn't discover him at Monteith until a bit later. We lost touch for close until the late '90s when I found him in a list of Wayne alumnae.
I E-mailed him. That started up a correspondance that continued for a number of years. We met in '05 I was in the Detroit area for a family visit. We spent the day looking at what was left of Detroit since I left it in '81 for Israel. I wasn't surprised, but ya' wonder why, and then you know why. It's part of the change that occur when you move from one place in the world to another, or learn other things about yourself that happen to you.
That was in in the Winter, and later, in '06, I received an E-mail from his daughter. He had died of cancer and she told me that she discovered the correspondance.
He lived in Traverse City, a State employee who traveled throughout Northern Michigan. It suited him. He had been divorced for some time and his wife and daughter lived in Texas.
It was good writing to him and even better hanging around town, what was left of it.
I'll consider your suggestion for seeking small-scale contributions, but first I think I'll bait the hook one more time and see if anyone bites.
Cary
How about accepting contributions for the upgraded site? There are probably enough folk to pay the bill. I'll commit to $25.
